We are completely reliant on donations from people just like you.

Did you know that DAWG is not funded by any state or local government, and is not a "local branch" of any national organization?

There are a variety of ways in which you can support the efforts of DAWG and assist in saving the lives of animals.

Since its inception 20 years ago, DAWG has raised over $1.2 million dollars to pay for essential veterinary care for over 40,000 animals who have been given a second chance for an awesome new life. While DAWG helps animals that come to the Mission Viejo shelter, which serves the cities of Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel, we also save about 100 animals each year through our Second Chance Rescue Program and our Trap, Neuter and Return program. Our Second Chance pets are selected from overcrowded shelters for their sweetness.  Once all of their medical needs are met, our rescued pets get adopted very quickly.

Thank you for your support in saving homeless pets!

We invite you to join us...

A DAWG annual membership fee is $25 per individual ($15 for seniors and students) and includes a quarterly newsletter, DAWG Bytes, with information on the animals saved and future events.

Forever Remembered—Memorial Wall

In memory of or in honor of a deceased or living pet, or a special person who loved animals, DAWG has provided a perfect location at the shelter for a memory wall.  The wall is adorned with the photos of some very special animals rescued by DAWG and the shelter. Each has an amazing story. In memory donations are $250 per pet. Each pet name submitted can include the year the pet passed away, or the current year if the pet is still living, and the family name.

In Memory Greeting Card

You can have an “In Memory” customized card sent to a family or individual who has lost a pet. The recommended donation is $50.

Giving Stock
Stock that has appreciated in value is one of the most popular assets used to make charitable gifts, once it has been held for a minimum of a year. Giving stock provides the donor with tax benefits while helping support our mission and compassionate good works.

Planned Giving

Our Planned Giving program is an excellent way to provide you with tax benefits while simultaneously helping our rescue animals. You can make a more significant gift to Dedicated Animal Welfare Group than you ever thought possible, while maximizing the financial and tax benefits to you, your estate, or your family.

Beneficiary Designation Gifts

Will or Living Trust

Gifts by will or living trusts for the benefit of Dedicated Animal Welfare Group may be for a set dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate, or the residual amount (funds leftover after all expenses have been paid).

Retirement Plans

Retirement plan assets (IRAs, 401(k), 403(b), etc.) offer another easy method for planned giving. The funds can be transferred at death to DAWG by naming Dedicated Animal Welfare Group as either the primary or contingent beneficiary of the account. As these funds are not distributed until your passing, they are not subject to estate tax or income tax.

Securities or Appreciated Assets

A gift of your securities, including your stocks or bonds, is an easy way for you to make a gift. By making a gift of your appreciated securities, you can avoid paying capital gains taxes that would otherwise be due if you sold these assets.

Workplace Contribution

DAWG is a non-profit 501c3 organization and available as your selection from United Way or other corporate matched giving programs.
