DAWG is an example of people working together to do great things.
20 Years of Second Chances
Each year through memberships, individual and corporate donations, and fundraising events, DAWG is able to provide hundreds of animals with a second chance to find forever homes, when they might otherwise by euthanized. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. Over 40,000 animals have been given a second chance at life thanks to donations from people like you.
Established in 1995, Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) incorporated as a charitable 501c3 non-profit, providing medical care and helping hands to comfort abandoned, sick or injured animals at the Mission Viejo Animal Shelter. Donations to DAWG pay for needed veterinary care until animals are reunited with their families or, if that is not possible, until they are restored to good health and placed into a loving home.
Over $1.2 Million Raised
Sharon Cody, former mayor of Mission Viejo, CA, led the way for the creation of the Animal Services Center in 1994. She immediately saw the benefits a private support group would bring to the shelter, and DAWG was born.
