Update on Barney

Left in a park by someone who decided they no longer want this little guy, what happened next was pretty awful. He was first attacked by a big dog and then when running from the dog ended up in traffic and was hit by a car.  With the expert help of orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Eich, Barney went through 4 hours of surgery that included some plates and pins to put that front leg back together. Last Thursday Barney got his sutures removed and in another week he'll be ready for an x-ray to make sure that leg is healing well. If it were up to Barney he would be dancing on his back feet and playing with other dogs. He is feeling GREAT.  Barney will have to be happy with volunteers holding him and sitting with him and taking him for just a brief walk for a few more weeks.  This guy is so social he is just loving the attention.  Once he has healed we expect to be able to find a home for him right away. We wish to thank our generous donors. Your donations saved the life of a most special Terrier.
