Sweet boy Sherman is feeling so much better. This lovely Flat Coated Retriever is one of the dogs DAWG rescued from Downey in late April. We knew he wasn’t feeling quite himself and we now know why. Sherman has pneumonia. We also have learned that some dogs with pneumonia do not cough or show respiratory symptoms. Thanks to your devotion to our shelter animals, Sherman is getting medical care and will be restored to good health in no time. If you would like to donate toward Sherman’s care, we would deeply appreciate some help.

Volunteers are jumping for joy! Long time shelter volunteer, Sandy, has adopted our two little shy pups, we called Darren and Tabitha. Found in a trash dumpster, these little guys came to us terrified. Little by little through our gentle handling and encouraging words, these pups began to trust.

Gryffindor and Midge kitties have something in common. Both benefited from the shelter's new Guardian Program. Shelter volunteers can donate by paying all or part of the adoption fees for cats that have been with the shelter for awhile to help them get more attention and ultimately a new home.
